Today was my birthday and this year I decided to book the day off work and have a relaxed day. In the main I managed to take time to enjoy the small things, like savouring the cup cake above which Mum bought for me the previous day from sweet couture, in London, as a mini birthday cake.
I baked some brownies to take into work, and attempted a Victoria sponge but think I will have to employ the electric mixer next time as one of the halves didn't rise at all. Still, I will fashion myself a couple of mini sponges from the other half!
I didn't quite mange to be as relaxed as Purdey is below (cats - nature's relaxation experts!) but enjoyed my day and it confirmed the notion that if money allowed, I would definitely have no problem in taking 6 months off work!
The owl card was from Mrs G and family, it's quite fun, it comes flat packed for the recipient to construct, and I have a small obsession with owls, so it was very apt!
